In 2021, our founder, Gabs, was feeling stuck. Burned out from her 9-5, heartbroken, and craving an escape.
So, she quit her job, packed her bags, and flew to Thailand solo, looking for a fresh start.
Little did she know that one trip would change everything.
Two years and countless adventures later, Gabs became stronger, more confident, and totally hooked on solo travel but the journey didn’t come without challenges and something was missing…

So, in 2023, Females Flying Solo was born, turning a small Facebook group into a worldwide community of women, hosting UK meet-ups, online workshops, and global girls trips.
Our mission is simple.
To help women make friends & travel the world.
Solo travel isn’t just about ticking things off your bucket list - it’s a transformative experience allowing you to discover who you are.

in 2021, after burning out from her corporate job and going through a tough breakup, Gabs decided enough was enough. So she quit her job, booked a one-way ticket to Thailand, and went solo!
Along the way, solo travel totally transformed her. Gabs went from low self-esteem and shaky confidence to feeling fearless, powerful, and ready to take on the world. Realising how life-changing this experience was, she knew she could help other women feel the same. So, she came back to the UK with a mission: to build a space where women could make friends, connect and help each other travel the world!

Imogen is the brains behind all things socials for FFS. She loves solo travel, socials & all things food (her one true love). Some of her favourite travel destinations are Japan, Switzerland & Zimbabwe.

Megan is our brand ambassador and YES queen. She is massive foodie and adrenaline junkie. She will try anything that’s why we call her the YES queen. Megan’s favourite destinations include Peru, Greece & South Korea.

Tilly is the definition of a wholesome goddess. She loves all things female empowerment, deep conversations & large strawberry daiquiris. Tilly’s favourite travel spots include Bali, Thailand & Costa Rica.
